Classroom Workshops

The Writing Center staff is available for in-class workshops that integrate course materials and any phase of the reading and writing process. These sessions are developed in collaboration with faculty and instruction librarians, and are geared to the specific needs and goals of the course. Typical topics are the structure and conventions of academic writing, the research process, strategies for revising written work, designing presentations materials, and interpreting and responding to essay questions.

Faculty Workshops

The Writing Center staff collaborates with faculty to provide workshops and demonstrations in which faculty can share their teaching approaches and strategies. Examples of workshops are developing writing assignments, responding to student writing, and working with students for whom English is a foreign language.
