Whether at work, school, home, or simply passing the time in between, writing has become an influential and expressive part of my life. I describe myself as being humbly creative in my own way, but hardly exhibit the admirable talent of artists and musicians. Rather, I feel that my art is in the use of words, of language; writing possess a beauty and grace absent in other art forms, capturing feelings and ideas as surely as any great piece of visual expression.
For me, writing begins long before I sit down to compose. Stillness, combined with what beauty this hardened cynic scrapes from this world, conjures ephemeral thoughts and ideas which sometimes make for the most meaningful of writing. I feel like the best writers are the best observers—those who can articulate in words the experiences and aspirations abundant in this chaotic world.
Not all of us may approach the written word with noble thoughts and flowery poetics though; this I've learned. Even if used for utilitarian means, writing is a vital means of communication-a skill which demonstrates one's articulateness and character. Email hasn't thrown us into the age of grunts and pantomime yet!
As a writing consultant, I hope to make all I work with transform, or keep their own voice unique and eloquent—coherent in delivery and meaningful in effect.
