“Writing is the beautiful synthesis of logic and art.”
-Anonymous
When I was seventeen, I abandoned drawing and painting to pursue the advancement of my math and logic skills. Twelve years and an A.S. degree in Computer Science later, I had accomplished my goal. When I enrolled into the IAS degree program, I realized that in order to write effectively I also needed to express my thoughts creatively.
Years of logic-intensive classes in the programming disciplines had suppressed my eloquence and expression. I began to build my inventive forces by enrolling in a creative writing class, working closely with my instructors, and of course, using the Writing Center. As I grew academically I realized that both creative and analytical reasoning are important to becoming an outstanding writer.
The UWB Writing Center has been paramount to my academic growth, so in my final undergraduate year, I want to give back to the university by working with UWB students. I know every student who that walks through the Writing Center door has a limitless writing potential they should strive to reach. I am here to help them achieve that goal.
