Every writing assignment is like a puzzle. Creating the complete puzzle is just the art of being able to put the right pieces together, and being able to discern whether a phrase or a sentence is an edge piece, or connects to the middle. But the fun part about papers is that you can cut off the little connecting bits and glue them on somewhere else to make things stick together.

One of the greatest struggles of many students (including myself at times) is tailoring essays to the style and requirements of an assignment. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation are all important to communicate effectively, but if you do every one of those right but still don’t follow the assignment your paper isn’t going to do what it needs to do.

Sometimes we get so hung up on our own words that we can’t see the overlying issues; just having someone look at our papers can help bring everything back into perspective Sometimes the issue is just getting started and you need someone to discuss the assignment with, or at least show you how to disable the blinking cursor that haunts your blank page. I am here to help you develop your skills, whether you’re putting together a 350 piece puzzle, or a 2,000 piece puzzle.
