Do I need an undergraduate degree in business to be admitted to either MBA Program?
No. Students who hold a bachelor's degree in any undergraduate discipline are encouraged to apply.
What criteria do you use when evaluating students?
The Admissions Committee considers several criteria, including previous academic performance, official GMAT scores, writing ability (GMAT writing score and application essays), work history (quantity and type of full-time work experience, level of responsibility, professional and management experience, and career progression), professional goals and skills (as indicated by applicant's response to two essay questions), the applicant's strengths and weaknesses (as indicated by two letters of recommendation from professional references), and community service.
What is the minimum GMAT score required for consideration?
There is no minimum GMAT score required for consideration. The GMAT can be taken more than one time, and the highest score is used.
Our goal is to admit students who have a high probability of success and who will continue to contribute the most to their peers and to the overall learning environment.
It is important to keep in mind that the MBA Admissions Committee considers the applicant's total file, including GMAT scores, undergraduate and/or graduate education and grade point average in the last 90 quarter units or 60 semester units completed, years of work experience, essays, professional goals and objectives, and letters of recommendation. For example, the GMAT score may be less of an issue for an applicant who has 10 to 20 years of progressively more responsible work experience in a high tech industry than it may for a recent college graduate with 3 to 4 years of full-time work experience.
There are books and classes available to help you prepare for the GMAT. . Princeton Review offers GMAT classes at UW Bothell. Please refer to MBA Admissions for resources and to sign up for the GMAT.

At the beginning of the exam, you must indicate that your official scores are to be sent to the UW Bothell MBA Evening Program. We will then receive your official scores, including the writing score, about three weeks after your exam.

No more than 40 new students will matriculate in Autumn 2009 for each program, the TMBA Program in Bothell and the new LMBA Program in Bellevue. We have had a wait list for the past several years for the TMBA Program and expect to have another wait list this year. Once you are admitted, you may complete a transfer petition for credits from classes that are similar in content to our classes.
