Frequently Asked Questions

During what quarters can I apply?

UW Bothell admits International students every quarter, however, some programs only admit during certain quarters. Application deadline and program prerequisite information are available on our web-site, or by contacting Student Affairs at 425.352.5000. International Student application deadlines are the same as for resident students.

What is the TOEFL requirement?

UW Bothell requires a TOEFL score of 580 (or 237 computerized version). We also accept a MLT (Michigan Language Test) score of 90%. The UWB institution code for the TOEFL test is 9964.

Do I have to take ESL?

Because we are an upper division campus offering only junior & senior (300 & 400) level courses, we can neither offer nor require ESL courses. Since our programs are reading and writing intensive, we require International students to have at least a 580 TOEFL plus a 3.0 in two English Composition courses.

Am I eligible for financial aid?

International students are not eligible for financial aid but some scholarships may be available and F-1 students may work up to 19.5 hours per week on campus.

How do I receive my I-20?

When you receive your admission packet, you will be instructed to meet with the International Student Advisor who will prepare your 1-20.
