Prospective Dual Enrollment Students
Shoreline CC, UW Bothell IAS
Step 1. Enroll at Shoreline Community College
See an advisor and plan your first 45 credits. The classes you take will include UW Bothell general admissions requirements and Interdisciplinary Studies program prerequisites as follows:
- Intermediate Algebra (may have been completed in high school)
- Foreign Language 101 and 102 (Not required if two years were successfully completed in high school)
- English 101
- English 201
- Quantitative/Symbolic Reasoning (e.g., PHIL 120; MATH 107)
- Additional credits (see Dual Enrollment Recommended Academic Areas)
Achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Step 2. Apply to Dual Enrollment
Check the application deadlines.
Obtain the signature of your CC advisor to verify eligibility.
Submit a Dual Enrollment application to UW Bothell.
Step 3. Dual Enrollment Admission
Admitted DE students are official students of SCC & UWB!
- Continue taking classes for your associate degree.
- Take BIS 300, Introduction to Inquiry.
- Complete up to an additional (20) 300 level IAS credits which fit your schedule.
Step 4. Guaranteed Admission to UW Bothell Interdisciplinary Studies
When you can check off the requirements below you've earned guaranteed admission to UW Bothell Interdisciplinary Studies:
- Associate in Arts & Sciences degree
- College GPA 3.0 or higher
What's
next? Submit official transcripts to the office of the Registrar for
verification. As a full-time UW Bothell Interdisciplinary Studies student, complete the
remaining bachelor degree requirements and graduate with a University
of Washington degree.
