Prospective Dual Enrollment Students

Cascadia CC, UW Bothell CSS

Step 1. Enroll at Cascadia Community College

See an advisor and plan your first 45 credits. The classes you take will include UWB general admissions requirements and Computing and Software Systems program prerequisites as follows:

ENGL 101
*ENGL 102, 270 or 271
*MATH 135 or 235
*MATH 130 or 140
*BIT 142 & 143

Achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in college classes and for CSS prerequisites. (*2.5 or higher required in each)

The DE application also requires either a qualifying score of the UW Writing Skills Assessment (WSA) of 4.5 or higher, or proof of a score of 510+ on the "old" SAT Verbal exam or 500+ on the "new" SAT critical reading exam.

Note: foreign language is required to graduate from the University of Washington Bothell (either two years high school or two quarters of college (101 and 102 levels).

Step 2. Apply to Dual Enrollment

Check the application deadlines.

Obtain the signature of your CC advisor to verify eligibility.

Submit a Dual Enrollment application to UW Bothell.

Step 3. Dual Enrollment Admission

Admitted DE students are official students of CCC & UWB!

Continue taking classes for your associate degree.
Complete up to 30 credits of CSS classes (if course pre-requisites have been fullfilled).
Can complete additional 300-400 level courses in other UW Bothell programs.

Step 4. Guaranteed Admission to UW Bothell Computing & Software Systems

When you can check off the requirements below you've earned guaranteed admission to UW Bothell CSS:

Associate in Arts & Sciences or Associate in Science degree.
College GPA 3.0 or higher.
Cumulative CSS prerequisite GPA 3.0 or higher (no grade less than a 2.5).
Cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher in UW Bothell CSS classes (none lower than 2.0).

What's next? Submit official transcripts to the office of the Registrar for verification. As a full-time UW Bothell CSS student, complete the remaining bachelor degree requirements and graduate with a University of Washington degree.
