Center of Guineoequadorian Studies, CESGE

Purpose of Club:

The Center of Guineoequadorian Studies, CESGE (Centro de Estudios Guineo-Equatorianos), is an incipient think tank with great potential in public policy. CESGE aims to contribute and enhance the quality of life of the entire society of Equatorial Guinea , offer a forum of debate for policy students, IAS and expand UW Bothell's multicultural ambitions by opening itself to the global community, particularly the African community of Equatorial Guinea.The idea of the association have also emerged with the increasing necessity to encourage inter-institutional academic collaborations with Equatorial Guinea , and to promote cultural, social, political and economic progress in the country. In addition, this would be a unique forum for students of policy studies or related area of studies to exchange ideas, publish, growth beyond university bounderies by creating a potential summer exchange programs with its professors teaching in the National University of Equatorial Guinea, learning Spanish, or leading and exchange program with the IAS department in the field of Policy, environment, culture, economic development, Nursing, Education... It would be a unique opportunity for student and professors alike to do field works and experience some development issues in the only spanish speaking country of Africa.
