Work Study
What is Work Study?
Work Study is need-based financial aid programs
that give students the opportunity to work part-time while going to
school. Work Study students can therefore find jobs and may be able to keep
their loan debt down by earning part of their aid eligibility, rather
than borrowing more loans.
- Jobs may be located on or off campus with
government agencies, non-profit organizations or private corporations.
- A student may work up to nineteen (19) hours per week while taking
classes.
- Pay ranges are the same as non-Work Study student
employment.
How to be Eligible for Work Study...
- Submit a FAFSA by the priority filing deadline. Be sure to indicate you are interested in
work study.
- Eligible students will have a workstudy
award included in their Notice of Award.
If work study is not listed as an award on
the letter, students are welcome to come in or call the Financial
Aid and Scholarship Office to investigate their
eligibility. You may also visit the UW Guide to Work Study for more information.
