What is the MLK Day of Service?
The King Day of Service is a way to transform Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life and teachings into community service that helps solve social problems. The idea of unity with a purpose does great things when we work together toward a common goal. Service helps meet the needs of the communities, schools, senior center, and homeless shelters. It is also a meaningful way to celebrate and honor King’s legacy. Many people still suffer discrimination of all racial and ethnic backgrounds celebrated the holiday by performing an act of kindness through service to others."
