About Us
The UW Bothell, Office of Student Life is committed to supporting the student leadership experience and to increasing educational opportunities. We have developed the following learning objectives for students working with the Campus Events Board.
Student Leaders working as members of the Campus Event Board
(CEB) will learn to:
Leadership Development
Articulate and reflect on individual role and responsibilities as a student leader.
Generate and assess goals for CEB.
Generate and assess specific learning outcomes for individual events/programs.
Delegate responsibilities in a balanced and impartial manner.
Evaluate and provide critical analysis of individual events/projects and personal effectiveness.
Communication & Collaboration
Correspond professionally through verbal and non-verbal communication in a variety of environments and situations.
Speak in clear, direct, and constructive manner.
Work effectively with others to organize logistics related to specific programs or events (i.e. artists and agents, campus offices, cosponsoring groups, group members, community, etc.).
Civic Engagement & Responsibility
Develop programs to support community, social, economic, and educational development.
Encourage and promote UW Bothell pride and community building among the campus.
Generate marketing strategies that promote and address issues of sustainability.
Generate programs to expose students to diversity, cultural differences, and global citizenship.
Work with a diverse range of people in a variety of situations.
Event Management
Articulate and reflect on the connection of CEB’s events or programs to UW Bothell’s mission, core values, and/or “The 21
st
Century Campus Initiative”.
Develop, implement, monitor, and make adjustments to program budget based on available funding.
Identify all aspects of planning a program/event and address event details in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate event and program records and information through documentation.
Personal Development & Evaluation
Articulate and reflect on personal skills/abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.
Balance commitments in a responsible manner (i.e. academic work, extra-curricular activities, personal time, etc.) and assess time management skills.
Maintain personal health and wellness in potentially stressful environments.
Reflect and articulate on how personal experience (cultural, work, beliefs, values, etc.) influence decision-making.
Reflect on and provide analysis of personal development and learning.
