Meet our OSL Staff

Jen Droege

Jen is the Director of Student Life at UWB. She advises ASUWB, the Services and Activities and Student Technology Fee Committees, and the Campus Events Board. She also coordinates new student orientation. Jen grew up in Ohio, and she is a huge Cleveland sports fan.  She received her bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Dayton and a master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio Student University.  When she's not at work, Jen enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her beagle, Bruno.

Terry Hill

Terry is the Assistant Director of Student Life.  Terry comes to us from the Seattle campus, where he has worked over 13 years in various academic programs that support student transition. He most recently has worked with First Year Programs where he coordinated academic learning communities for transfer students, taught leadership development courses for undergraduates and advised Tau Sigma, a national honors society for transfer students. In addition, he has worked at coordinating summer new student and transfer orientations, family orientation efforts, welcome week programs, and the Hurricane Katrina Student Resource Center. He has recently served on the Board of Directors for the National Orientation Directors Association. He holds a Master in Public Affairs, with an emphasis in education policy and emergency management. Outside of work, he loves to camp, hike, and volunteer for various environmental causes and crisis hotlines.

Sam E Al-Khoury

Sam is the Coordinator for Recreation and Wellness. He is responsible for the new Student Fitness Center, the Recreational Sports program, and Wellness and Fitness programs. Sam studied Economics at UW Seattle and is part of a long line of Huskies, and is very proud to still be a part of the Husky tradition by working here at UW Bothell. In his spare time, Sam is working on his digital photography skills, reading, playing video games, and cleaning his apartment.

Andrea Ramirez

Andrea is the Coordinator of Student Programs. She advises Student Organizations, Alternative Spring Break, and the Campus Events Board (CEB).  Andrea received her master’s degree in Public Administration from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. She volunteers for the National Association of Campus Activities and is a current member of the West Region Conference Programming Committee. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, attending the theater, concerts, and trying exciting cuisines.

Student Assistants

The Student Assistants are a group of eight students who sit at the desk in the Lower Level Vista and in the Student Life Office in UW1-070. They are available five days a week to answer questions students may have, point students in the right direction, and to help encourage students to get more involved on campus.
 

The Mission of the Office of Student Life

To create a vibrant campus community by providing opportunities for student engagement that enhance the academic experience. 

We accomplish this through:

  • Advising student organizations and governing boards
  • Developing social and educational programming
  • Providing recreational sports and wellness initiatives
  • Offering leadership and life skills opportunities
  • Coordinating new student orientation

Students who actively participate in our programs will:
