Dr. Chen has more than 10 years of teaching experience in the circuits, electronic devices and microfabrication in various teaching activities in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington. His research interests are the fields of III-V semiconductors, devices, sensors and microfabrication. He has published more than 30 research papers and presentations in the fields of III-V semiconductors, microfabrication and opto-electronic devices, and material property analysis. Dr. Chen has also served as the manager of the EE microfabrication Laboratory at the University of Washington for 10 years. He supported all areas of the microfabrication lab operation necessary for the successful unitization of the laboratory for device research, development of novel fabrication techniques, supporting laboratory classes that used the laboratory, training users and advising students.
