Hoverboards banned on UW Bothell campus
The University of Washington Bothell has announced that it will prohibit the possession of hoverboards on campus. The decision comes after an on-campus incident and mounting evidence of safety threats from hoverboards. The decision affects all campus buildings, residential facilities and leased properties.
Welcome to the Campus Safety Department. Our department provides professional security and campus safety services to UW Bothell and Cascadia College. To enhance the teaching and learning environment for the entire campus community, we are committed to creating and maintaining safety as well as a sense of security. Campus Safety Officers actively patrol the campus to get to know our community members.
Campus Safety also partners with Darren Branum who is our Emergency Preparedness Manager that handles all training and education for both campuses.
The Campus Safety Office is located in the LB2 building street level on Campus Way NE. We operate 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to provide a safe and secure environment for our community.
If you see something, say something. It is important that you promptly report any suspicious activity to Campus Safety as soon as possible to ensure that the situation gets investigated immediately.
The Bothell Police Department will respond to any immediate emergency needs which include any violent crimes or other incidents beyond the capabilities of the Campus Safety Officers. Campus Safety Officers work closely with the Bothell Police Officers who spend a significant amount of time on our campus to be well prepared for any major incidents.
