My name is Stephen Cardamenis, and I am junior majoring in Law, Economics, and Public Policy. I was born in San Diego, California, and moved up here to Washington just before I entered High School. I am a huge science fiction fan, I enjoy reading science fiction stories, both comic books and novels, along with watching different science fiction TV shows and movies. My favorite comic book is X-Men (pre 2001), but my favorite superhero is Batman. My favorite actress is Amanda Tapping, whom I have actually gotten to meet, during my first year going to the San Diego Comic Con. It was a good first year. Some of my other interests are; baseball, reading biographies and current events, writing, and hanging out with friends. I also enjoy listening to classic rock music, such as The Beatles, U2, Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, and Bruce Springsteen. After I graduate, I would like to go to law school, work as a prosecutor for a few years, maybe become DA, before going to work in politics. I don’t know if I would want to be a candidate for public office myself, or if I would rather be someone who works behind the scenes a little bit more, like a member of a public official’s senior staff. Side note, the upcoming election will be my first Presidential election, so, I’m really excited. Now, while I don’t know whether I want to hold public office myself, I do know that the reason I want to go into these careers is because I want to help people and bring about positive change. I believe, that whatever the faults of government and politics have been in the past, and quite frankly, whatever failings they’ll have in the future, that ultimately, they are a place where people can come together, and be a force for good.
