Special Requirements

Admission to the Master of Nursing program is open to any professional nurse licensed to work in Washington who has graduated from an NLN-accredited nursing program with a minimum of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Admission also requires either a BSN or baccalaureate degree in another field.

For the non-BSN candidate, competency examination scores of at least 2.0 are required in professional nursing and community health nursing content. Successful completion of a three-credit basic statistics course, a personal goal statement relevant to the program objectives and a professional resume describing educational background and experience in professional nursing practice is also required.

What kind of experience(s) is preferred in applicants?

GRE Scores

GRE Scores are no longer required for admission to the Masters of Nursing Program. Some students may decide to take the exam or have taken it some time previously. You can have the scores sent to the University of Washington Graduate School to include in your file. They are not required as part of the consideration for acceptance into the MN program.
