UW Bothell and Cascadia Community College to Host Community Partnerships Fair

BOTHELL, Wash. - The University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia Community College will host a Community Partnerships Fair on Wednesday, May 7, 6:00 p.m. in the North Creek Events Center.The fair will showcase the efforts of students, faculty and staff in the area of service learning, highlighting a variety of community partnerships. Community Partnerships Fair Schedule of Events

* 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm Storytelling Workshop
Everyone has a story.
Professional storyteller Brooke Zimmers guides participants through fun and engaging exercises to help them more effectively share their valuable life experiences with others.


* 3:30 pm - 4:10 pm Woodin Elementary Community Psychology Project
How can groups do effective community-based work?
Come learn about a community-based project designed to foster positive peer interactions and inclusivity-implemented and sustained by a cohort of UW Bothell Community Psychology students.


* 4:15 pm - 4:55 pm Mentoring: Get Involved!
Do mentors matter in your life?
This panel discussion examines the importance of mentoring work, and will highlight the efforts of Cascadia Community College/UW Bothell mentor volunteers and the organizations they serve.


* 5:00 pm - 5:40 pm A Conversation about 21 Acres
Want to learn more about local food and sustainable living?
Students, faculty, staff, and a representative from 21 Acres-a local agricultural learning center-discuss the ongoing collaboration with 21 Acres and its value to CCC/UW Bothell and to people in the region.


* 5:45 pm - 6:00 pm All that Jazz!
Dancer Jenn Brittain from Cascadia's student club-All that Jazz-will perform along with members of the club.


* 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm Recognition Ceremony & Reception
Celebrate the commitment of our community partners with Cascadia Community College President Dr. Bill Christopher and UW Bothell Chancellor Dr. Kenyon Chan-hear stories of students and the agencies they have partnered with this year.
