BOTHELL, Wash. - In response to market demands, University of Washington Bothell students can now gain the skills necessary to become practicing accountants. Starting in Autumn Quarter 2008, Business majors at UW Bothell can choose to pursue a formal option in Accounting.
Says Ron Tilden, Accounting Lecturer, "The introduction of an Accounting Option is an exciting step in the growth of UW Bothell. We look forward to preparing our business students for careers in public accounting and many other occupations."
In addition to public accounting, the two-year Accounting Option will thoroughly prepare students for careers in private, government, and non-profit accounting. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam. Student may also choose to take a three-year plan enabling them to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam (pending a minimum of 225 quarter hours or five years of college).

The University of Washington Bothell was founded in 1990 to serve King and Snohomish counties and north Puget Sound area students seeking bachelor's and master's degrees. UW Bothell offers degree programs in applied computing, business, computing and software systems, cultural studies, education, interdisciplinary studies, nursing and policy studies.
