Get Help From a Librarian
Students: Librarians are available to answer questions about library resources, research strategies, focusing a topic, citing sources, evaluating information and more at the Information Commons desk during most hours the Campus Library is open. Librarians staffing this drop-in service can provide immediate help as needed, but cannot guarantee their undivided attention to any one student in the Information Commons, since other students may need their assistance.
To arrange for an extended one-on-one consultation with a librarian who is working with your class or is an expert in the subject you are researching, contact that librarian directly via email or telephone in advance to make an appointment. Check the list of librarians (by name or by subject) or your class guide (CCC, UWB) to find your librarian.
If you are unsure which librarian would be the best person to help you, use our Ask Us a Question form. Please include some information about the class you are in and/or the subject area or topic you are researching so we can best match you up with an expert in that area. We will try to respond within one to two working days.
For 24 hour reference assistance connect to UW Libraries' real-time, online reference service, Q&A Live. This service is available 7 days a week, 365 days a year. At times, you may be chatting with a librarian from another academic library or the national 24/7 Reference cooperative service.

Faculty: Librarians are available to consult individually with UW Bothell and Cascadia faculty members on creating effective research assignments.
