Adobe Software

Adobe Systems is a software developer that focuses on multimedia and creativity applications. You may be familiar with some of its popular titles like Photoshop, Acrobat Reader, and Flash Player. This software is already part of the UWB standard software image, which allows students and faculty to freely access them at workstations across campus. If you are interested in any Adobe products for home use, you can purchase them at reduced prices at UWare (http://www.washington.edu/uware/) or the University Bookstore. The Reader and Flash Player are free and can be downloaded online.

  • Adobe Reader - an application used to open .PDF files, should you encounter any of them in your class.
  • Adobe Flash Player - a cross-platform browser plug-in that is used in many rich websites.
  • Adobe Photoshop - an image editing application that can be used for a variety of purposes such as photo correction and manipulation, addition of special effects, merging or splitting images, and even generating new ones from scratch.
  • Adobe Dreamweaver - an application that allows users to design, develop, and maintain web sites and applications.
