The following is a list of equipment and software available in the Learning Technologies Studio. Faculty and staff can check out many of these items for educational research and use.

Equipment Available for Check Out

  • 1 Livescribe Smartpen
    • The Livescribe Smartpen records everything you write and say. Useful for meetings or lectures.
  • 3 Wacom Bamboo Tablets
    • Wacom Bamboo Tablets allow the user to manipulate their computer's cursor using their fingers or a stylus. These tablets may be useful for digital art, teaching math or formula-based subjects, signing digital documents, or creating a handwritten digital document.
  • 6 Koss SB49 Headsets
  • 6 Creative Live! Webcams
    • Use a webcam to record video while sitting at your computer, or video chat with programs like Skype.
  • 2 Logitech MX Air Mice
    • Giving a presentation? Use a cordless Logitech MX Air Mouse to navigate your computer's cursor simply by moving it through the air.

Tablets, eReaders, and Mobile Devices

  • 1 Amazon Kindle
    • A Kindle can hold Word documents, PDF files (at a cost) and eBooks. This may be a device of interest if you want to read and take notes on-the-go, or don't want to carry around as many physical texts.

    • iPads and Android tablets (Xoom & Galaxy) can do a variety of things that may fit into your curriculum. Checking email, keeping up with social networks, creating movies, and taking notes are only a few possibilities.

    • Ideal for presentations operated from an iPad. The adapter projects your iPad screen to a TV or projector screen.
