Leaving Comments on Assignments

You can leave comments for any assignment that appears in the gradebook. This is helpful when communicating concerns or compliments on an assignment.

To leave a comment on an assignment, simply move your mouse cursor and hover over the student's assignment grade that you wish to leave a comment for. A message box icon will appear in the corner of the grade box. Click the icon to leave a comment.

Type in the comment for the student to view. You can also attach files to the response. Once done, click on the Update button. Students will recieve be notified via the Canvas messaging system as well as via e-mail if they have signed up for updates. The comment will also be visible on the student's view of their grades.
