In addition to the announcements appearing on your Canvas page, you may also send notifications of new announcements to your non-Canvas accounts. Currently, there are three places you may have your notifications sent to: your email address, Facebook or Twitter.
To set up announcement notifications, click the Profile tab in the upper right corner of the screen.

From your profile page, click the Notifications tab from the menu on the left side of the page.

Clicking this tab will bring you to your notification settings page. Scroll down to the section reading For new announcements. From here, you can choose a text message or email notification to any phone number or email address registered with the account. You can also choose how frequently announcement notifications should be sent (right away, daily, weekly, never).

You may add multiple places to sent notifications by clicking the And Also... link under the notification frequency options. For example, you would do this if you would like to be sent an email and text message every time an announcement is posted.
Click Save Preferences to change your new settings.
In addition to controlling your announcement notifications, you may also set notification settings for other tools in the course.
