As part of UW Bothell's transition from Blackboard to Canvas, we will be winding down the use of Blackboard in 2013. Students will have through December 2013 to save any and all data, including papers and other assignment submissions, documents, journals and discussion board posts. After December 2013, students will no longer be able to access their files in Blackboard. If you have any work on Blackboard that you wish to save, please follow the steps on this page before the end of December 2013.
Saving Grades
- To save grades from the gradebook, you can print the gradebook page as a PDF.
- Alternatively, you can copy and paste the gradebook into Microsoft Word but the formatting will require cleanup.
Downloading and Saving Submissions
- Go into the Gradebook and click on the grade for the assignment. This will bring up a summary of the assignment along with any files that you have submitted as attachments. You can download these files to your computer. If you made a text entry, you can copy and paste the entry into a Word document. See screenshots below for details.
- Alternatively, if your instructor did not close an assignment and it is still open, you can download previously submitted files from the submission screen as well.
- Unfortunately, there is no way for students to collect all uploaded files at once on a Blackboard site. This is why we recommend uploading all files that you produce on to your ePortfolio.
Saving Discussion Board Posts
- The best way would be to collect all of the posts and then print the posts as a PDF file. See screenshots below for directions on doing this.
- Alternatively, you can select and copy the entire text and paste to a Word doc.
- If you attached individual files to a post, you can download them by clicking on the attached files.
Blogs, Journals, and Wikis
- Similar to the discussion board, the best way to save your posts on a blog, journal, or wiki would be to print the page as a PDF.
- Alternatively, you can copy and paste the posts in to a Word document.
