Enrolling Users

Enrollment by Students

  • Log into Blackboard.
  • Click on the Courses tab located in the upper left side of the page.

  • Search for your course: enter a word from the course title (ex. Management or Discovery Core) in the Course Search box and click GO.

  • If no courses showed up using the Course Search box, try using the Course Catalog. Click Browse Course Catalog, then search for your course by ID number, course name, description or instructor. To perform the search, click GO. Skip this step if you found the correct course with the method above.

  • Find the right course and click on its Enroll button. On the next page, confirm your enrollment by clicking Submit. A success receipt will inform you that you have enrolled in that course.

  • Find the right course and click on its Options Button to the right of the course ID. Once the drop down menu appears, click Enroll. On the next page, review the information and enter the access code if one is needed to enroll in the course. When you are finished, click Submit.
  • A success receipt will inform you that you have enrolled in that course.

 Enrollment By Instructors

  • Click on the Courses tab. Underneath Course List, select the course you wish to enroll students in.
  • Go to Control Panel > Users and Groups > Users.
  • Mouse over the Enroll User button in the top left. From here, click Find User to Enroll to search for or enter the student's information.
  • When prompted, enter the username, role and enrollment availability of the student you wish to add. If you don't know the student's username, click the Browse button to search for the student by their first or last name. enrollment-(2).png
  • Upon clicking the Browse button, a new window will appear, allowing the user to search for students by their personal information, such as first name, last name, UW email address, or username.

  • From the search results, check the boxes to the left of any students you wish to add to your class. Once you have checked these boxes, click Submit. Although the window will close, the user may revisit this page by repeating the procedure and clicking Browse.
  • Once the students you wish to enroll are listed on the Add Enrollments page, click Submit. If the enrollment was successful, you will be redirected to the course's user page, where any new students will be included.
