Grade Center Introduction

  • To access the Blackboard Grade Center, scroll down to the Control Panel and click on the Grade Center.
    • A drop down menu will appear that allows you to quickly access assignments, tests, and student submissions that have not been graded.
    • Click on the >> or "Full Grade Center" to access the course Grade Center.

  • The Grade Center looks like this:

  • Create Column will create a grade column for assignments that are not automatically created in Blackboard.
  • Create Calculated Column will create a column that allows you to average, total, and weight existing grade columns.
  • Manage will allow you to organize your gradebook.
  • Reports lets you display and download a history of changes you have made in Grade Center.
  • Work Offline will let you download the gradebook to an Excel spreadsheet.
  • Grades are denoted as:
    • A "--" means that work has not been submitted.
    • A needs-grading.png means that work has been submitted and the assignment needs grading.
    • A grade-exempt.png means that the student is exempted from this assignment.
    • A attemptinprogress.png indicates that the student is currently working on the assignment.
    • A override.pngindicates that the grade was changed from the default values.
    • A number means that a grade has been assigned.
