Martha Groom, an associate professor of Interdisciplinary Arts at UW Bothell, had her students create digital stories with Microsoft Photo Story and then publish them on YouTube for BES 485 Conservation Biology. The project was tracked on the UWBConsBio, a blog for the BES 485 class to showcase the public works produced by the students.
Project Description
BES 485 Conservation Biology, Winter 09: a 5-10 minute video documentary that summarizes a previously submitted 1500 word and 10 sources paper about a particular conservation solution. As an alternative to creating a video, a student was given a choice to extend the paper. The whole project, including the paper, was worth 33% of the course grade.
