eLearning is a broad term that describes the use of computing technologies and software in teaching and learning. As part of UW Bothell's goal to provide the best of instructional technology for faculty and students, Learning Technologies has been supporting the use of eLearning tools such as Blackboard, Google Sites, and Tegrity. More informaiton on these tools and their uses can be found in the pages below. In addition to these web resources, Learning Technologies staff provides consultation and workshops on how best to use these tools to enhance student learning.
Blackboard is web courseware which can be used to create online content and add online interaction and collaboration to a course. This allows students and faculty to easily exchange documents, view grades, post on discussion boards, and generally perform certain tasks online.
ePortfolios, much like traditional portfolios, are a collection of documents, media and other sources compiled in to a central website or userpage. At UW Bothell, ePortfolios are created with Google Sites, an easy to use web editor.
Hybrid Learning is a term used to describe courses where a portion of in-class learning has been replaced by web based online learning. This section of the site was prepared for instructors interested in designing hybrid courses.
Tegrity is a lecture capture software that enables insturctors to record audio, video, and computer screen activity during a lecture and publish the lecture online. Faculty can use the recorded lectures for developing hybrid courses and to help students keep up with class content.
