Blackboard and Canvas are web courseware which can be used to create online content and add online interaction and collaboration to a course. This allows students and faculty to easily exchange documents, view grades, post on discussion boards, and generally perform classroom functions online.

ePortfolios, much like traditional portfolios, are a collection of documents, media and other sources compiled in to a central website or userpage. At UW Bothell, ePortfolios are created with Google Sites, an easy to use web editor.

Hybrid Learning is a term used to describe courses where a portion of in-class learning has been replaced by web based online learning. This section of the site was prepared for instructors interested in designing hybrid courses.

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are online courses designed for larger and broader audience participation. These courses do not require any registration or cost, and are made available for anyone with an Internet connection to join.

Tegrity is a lecture capture software that enables instructors to record audio, video, and computer screen activity during a lecture and publish the lecture online. Faculty can use the recorded lectures for developing hybrid courses and to help students keep up with class content.

Google Apps is a set of web tools that let students, staff, and faculty easily collaborate with each other on assignments, projects, and other tasks. The University of Washington has partnered with Google to provide Google Apps for UW.
