Assignment Priorities and Roommates
2013-14 Term Housing Assignment Priorites
- Current Student Housing Residents.
- New Freshmen who live at least 30 miles from campus (including Whidbey Island).
- New Freshmen who live within 30 miles from campus.
- New Transfer Students who live at least 30 miles from campus (including Whidbey Island).
- Continuing undergraduate students who live at least 30 miles from campus (including Whidbey Island).
- New Transfer Students who live within 30 miles from campus.
- All continuing undergraduate students within 30 miles from campus.
- Graduate students.
Within each priority category the University reserves the right to prioritize based on the distance between the student's permanent address and campus.
Requesting a Specific Roommate
Applicants may request a specific roommate on the application. Requests will be accommodated if:
- Both applications have concurring information; and,
- Both applications are submitted at approximately the same time; and,
- Both applicants are in the same Priority Group; and,
- Space is available.
Both applicants must enter requested roommate’s UW NET ID on the application in order to be considered. If a roommate is not specified, a roommate will be assigned by the Student Housing Office. Responses to the smoking and lifestyle questions on the application will be taken into consideration when roommates are assigned.
Housing Application Timeline
The 2013-14 student housing application priority dates are listed below. Both the application and a $50 application fee must be received for the application to be considered complete. The student housing assignments are based on the following priority order:
