GCA Awards in Tropical Botany
Open to students who anticipate completing the requirements for a Ph.D. in Botany within two years. Applicants must already be Ph.D. candidates enrolled at a US university. Applications be postmarked by January 15 preceding the proposed period of study.

The GCA Award in Coastal Wetland Studies
Open to graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in coastal wetlands science.  Applications must be received by January 15 preceding the year of study.

The GCA Award in Desert Studies
Open to graduate or advanced undergraduate students studying in an accredited US university.  Applications must be received by January 15 of the year preceding study.


The Garden Club of America/Royal Horticultural Society Interchange Fellowships
The RHS Interchange Fellowship is open to a single, unaccompanied American college graduate who has earned a BA or BS degree. Applicants must be 26 or younger, because of the age limit on student travel vouchers in Great Britain and Europe. Selected finalists are required to attend an interview at their own expense and will be notified of the time and place.  Applications must be received at GCA Headquarters in New York by January 15 preceding the year of study.

The Loy McCandless Marks Scholarship in Tropical Horticulture
Open to graduate or advanced undergraduate students. Applicants must be US citizens. This opportunity will be awarded upon verification that complete funding has been obtained for the study abroad. Travel must commence within 12 months of the award.  Applications must be received at GCA headquarters in New York City by January 15 preceding the period of study.

 The Frances M. Peacock Scholarship for Native Bird Habitat
Open to college seniors and graduate students only (second-semester juniors may apply for their senior year). Application deadline is January 15 preceding the proposed period of study.

The GCA Zone VI Fellowship in Urban Forestry
Open to graduate or advanced undergraduate students in environmental studies, horticulture, forestry, and related courses of study with a special interest in the urban forest. Students must be enrolled during the academic year following the award.  Applications must be received at the Virginia Tech Department of Forestry by January 31 of the period preceding study.
