Prepare to become a certified teacher in Washington State
UW Bothell prepares innovative, ethical practitioners who are grounded in intellectual and professional communities and who are dedicated to educating diverse students.
Our K-8 Teacher Certification Program leads to a Washington State Residency Certificate with an endorsement in Elementary Education. Middle Level endorsements are also available in Humanities, Mathematics and/or Science.
- You may choose to add the Education Minor through the Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (IAS) degree program.
The Secondary and Middle Level Teacher Certification M.Ed. program leads to both a Master of Education degree and a Washington State Residency Certificate with endorsements in Biology, English/Language Arts, History, Mathematics, and/or Social Studies.
The Master of Education program is designed to provide the academic foundations and depth you will need to advance in your career within the education community, take on leadership roles within the profession, and make significant contributions to the future of children, youth, and families. Combine your M.Ed. with the Reading Endorsement or Preparation for National Boards.
Leadership Development for Educators M.Ed. (LEDE), is open to individuals with a Washington Professional Teacher Certification who have formal or well-documented informal teacher instructional leadership responsibilities. You will earn a master's degree as well as the credentials necessary to be a school principal in Washington state.
