Admission Requirements


Students entering this program will be expected to have previously obtained a B.S. in Computer Science and Software Engineering or equivalent. As a minimum, the M.S. in Cyber Security Engineering curriculum expects students to have working knowledge in the following:

  • High-level of competency in object-oriented programming languages including: C/C++ and Java
  • Operating systems
  • Software processes and software development lifecycle models (prescriptive and agile)
  • Requirements engineering
  • System modeling (such as using UML)
  • Analysis and Design
  • Recommended:  Machine Architecture

Applicants with a bachelors degree in other areas can fulfill these prerequisites through the completion of the Graduate Certificate in Software Design & Development.
