Ben Gonio, Acting instructor for CUSP, recently received a modest grant from the City of Seattle Mayors Arts & Cultural Affairs to do a developmental presentation of a multi-media solo-theatre piece based on "America is in the Heart", by Carlos Bulosan. He will explore a story about love, family, and immigration in 1930's Seattle. Uupcoming performances:

This session will include new first year students who would like to study overseas; students who have already gone to Oaxaca or Zambia; and James Reinnoldt’s (Business) and other faculty members’ observations about leading trips around the world.

The Globalization of the Workforce
Tuesday, October 26, 1-2 pm in CUSP, UW2 030
Initiated by faculty members in IAS, Business, and Nursing, the conversation will zero in on some fundamental structural and experiential changes occurring in the workforce. Faculty will also discuss their own observations about how students might best prepare themselves for finding satisfying jobs in the global marketplace.
The Changing Face of Global Education

This day’s event will focus on how universities are responding to global trends and competition as they adjust their vision of higher education for the new century. What connections might we draw between Port Elizabeth, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and Bothell?
Understanding Cross-Cultural Learning Styles
Thursday, October 28, 1-2 pm in CUSP, UW2 030
To conclude the week, faculty members from writing, math, literature, and the Discovery Core sequence will zero in more closely on how different cultures prepare students for success in the classroom and how both UW Bothell faculty and students might best leverage these different learning styles.
