Andrew BruslettenAs Graduate Program Manager, Andrew manages recruiting and admissions, advises students on course selection and degree completion, monitors student academic progress, and serves as liaison with the UW Graduate School.

Lisa Olason

Lisa OlasonAs Community Relations Manager, Lisa advises students and recent graduates on professional development and builds campus-community partnerships.

Lisa's career spans more than 15 years in the nonprofit sector, including eight years in the field of international relief and development.  She has worked as a project manager, volunteer coordinator, cross-cultural trainer, event planner, fundraiser, and therapist and has served diverse populations, including adolescents, the elderly, persons living with HIV/AIDS, survivors of domestic violence, and orphaned children.  Lisa has a BA in Human Services from Western Washington University and an MS in Marriage & Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University. Leslie Schiffman

Leslie SchiffmanAs Program Coordinator, Leslie monitors the admissions process, provides general program support to students, faculty and public, and publishes the IAS graduate newsletter.

Leslie began her career at UW Bothell in August of 2003. As Program Coordinator for the IAS Graduate Office, she assists applicants and students with program information. Leslie graduated from UW Bothell in 2007 with a BA in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, American Studies.  She enjoys museum visits, reading, golf, bridge, and fly fishing. Contact Leslie

Elizabeth ThomasAs Associate Director for Graduate Education and Associate Professor, Ron Krabill teaches courses in the Cultural Studies graduate program, advises graduate students, and provides oversight of graduate curriculum, policies, and planning.

Jackie Belanger

As Cultural Studies Librarian, Jackie assists students in conducting research and literature reviews for course assignments and capstone projects. She works with students both in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis.

Jackie has been at UW Bothell since 2008. She has a BA in English from Northwestern University, a PhD in English from the University of Kent (Canterbury, UK), and Master’s degree in Library & Information Science from University College London (UK). Contact Jackie

  Andreas Brockhaus

As Director of Learning Technologies at the University of Washington Bothell, Andreas provides support for the integration of technology in teaching and learning for faculty and staff in accordance with the University's mission of using the best of educational technology. His goal is to promote and enhance student learning through the most efficient and effective use of instructional technology. He is also affiliate faculty in IAS.

Andreas has been at UW Bothell since 2002. Prior to UWB, he was at North Seattle Community College as the manager of their teaching and learning center and taught as an adjunct faculty member. He has a B.A. in English from Western Washington University and an M.A. in English from the University of Washington. Contact Andreas

Karen Rosenberg

Director, Writing Center

I am passionate about writing, writing pedagogy, and capable and creative program administration. As the Director of the Writing Center I have the great privilege of supporting students and faculty in creating productive spaces to explore, revise, and re-imagine their writing and communication practices. I support students through in-class workshops, teaching, and directing the Writing Center. I support faculty through consultations on course design topics such as creating effective writing assignments, appropriate assessments, and innovative ways of integrating writing into courses.
