Summary
The Center serves as a real-world and virtual hub for collaboration in research partnerships, student projects, educational innovation and entrepreneurial opportunities. This is a dynamic environment where design, art, narrative, computer science and education converge. The Center focuses not on the development of technology, but instead provides a venue for undergraduate and graduate students to work together with faculty and industry professionals. Together, we will discover how technology, narrative and games can change our lives. By acting as an incubator for student projects, the Center enhances learning and prepares students to succeed in the 21st century workplace.
Programs, Projects and Activities
The Center will offer a game design certificate program (launching fall 2011), seminars, symposiums, workshops, and hands-on experience and mentoring to develop skills needed to succeed in the 21st century workplace. These skills include the design of interactive experiences, intellectual property development, game design, and game industry business fundamentals. The Center will also provide a learning-lab environment for course-related projects, workshops, internships and capstones.
