On Sunday, June 16, 2013, the University of Washington Bothell community will come together at the Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson pavilion, on the UW Seattle campus to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2013.
Graduate Entrance/Check In and Line Up
Students must report to the graduate check-in area no later that 12:30 p.m. and assemble for academic procession no later than 1:00 p.m. The last opportunity to leave the line and use restroom facilities will be 1:00-1:15 p.m.
The check-in area is located outside the southeast corner of Alaska Airlines Arena, next to Husky Stadium. It is very important that you make arrangements to leave all personal items such as purses, keys, coats, etc. with family members because you will not be allowed to carry them into the auditorium and we cannot be responsible for their safety or security during the commencement ceremony.
Event Schedule
Procession begins at 1:45 p.m. The Commencement Marshal leads the procession. Upon arrival at your seat in the arena, you will remain standing. Graduates will sit on both side of the arena floor. If you arrive late, you will need to fall in at the end of the procession. Once the procession has begun, there is no further opportunity for anyone to join his or her program group.
Commencement Exercises begin at 2:00 p.m.
Recessional begins at 4:00 p.m. (approximate time) After all degrees have been conferred, the graduating class rises and remains standing throughout the faculty recessional. Upon completion of the faculty recessional, Program Marshals direct graduates from the arena to the upper concourse outside of the auditorium. To prevent congestion, please proceed all the way to the concourse area. Make arrangements with family members to meet you at an agreed-upon location along the upper concourse.
Guest Entrance and Seating
General admission tickets are required for entrance into the Alaska Airlines Arena. Doors will open at 1:00 p.m., and it is requested that guests be seated by 1:45 p.m.
