Ashley Stapleton
I am currently finishing my undergraduate degree in the IAS program and hope to continue my education at UWB studying education. I work as a Community Advisor at campus housing and love the opportunity to connect with other students. I absolutely adore my dogs and enjoy spending time with them. I hope to one day have my own dog rescue. I love travel and cultural studies and recently spent 5 months studying and traveling abroad. I like to spend my free time cooking, practicing alternative medicine, reading, and trying new things!
John Mauk
I am a sophomore student at Cascadia Community College, currently majoring in history. My plans are to transfer to a four-year university some time in 2010, and I am considering a career in education. My interest in the civic fellows program is motivated by several things: a personal interest in community service and the social sciences, a desire to get invaluable experience in service and research, and most importantly an ethical obligation that I feel everybody has to improve our society and help those in need.
Romeo Pakasi
I am the first generation from my family who has the opportunity to go to a higher education institution. I am currently a senior in the nursing program at UWB and am actively involved in UWB Relay for life, Indoor Soccer Club, and volunteering work at a local church in Mountlake Terrace. My passion is to serve others and make a difference in the lives of a poverty-stricken individual and community through research and education. I like to participate in community-based learning because of the integration of learning, service, and hands-on experience.
Ahmed Khalil
I am a second year student in the UW Bothell Technology MBA and UW Seattle Global Trade, Transportation, and Logistics programs. I work full-time and have over 6 years of experience in accounting and financial analysis. As a new Student Civic Fellow, I look forward to supporting the university and serving the needs of my community. My goal is to forge lasting bonds with my community and become a lifelong advocate for change.

I am a master of nursing student in UWB now. As a professional healthcare worker, I am passionate to serve people, not only patients, but everybody in the community. Service is from the heart. Service is matching together with mind and hands. Service is smiling when facing people. I treasure the opportunity to be a student civic fellow and love to work with everybody to help the society.

I am completing up my undergraduate degree in Society, Ethics, and Behaviors and I recently have been admitted to the Teacher Certification program at UWB. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of civic fellowship because of my desire to enhance community partnerships, promote unity through civic action, and educate others about social justice issues that impact everyone.
