Walter Freytag

Walter Freytag is Senior Lecturer and Associate Director of the School of Business at UW Bothell. He earned his M. S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

Dr. Freytag's professional experience is in the area of human resource management and development. He served as Manager of Management Development at the Frito Lay division of PepsiCo, and he has headed human resource departments at Penn State's Applied Research Laboratory and ATL Ultrasound (now a division of Philips Healthcare).

He teaches MBA and undergraduate courses in leadership, team processes, work motivation and human resource management. He is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the Applied Psychological Society.

Dr. Freytag is Founding Director of UW Bothell’s Business Development Center, now known as The Entrepreneurship Center. He has held numerous leadership roles in the community and helped found several Eastside organizations including the Bellevue Entrepreneurship Center and Leadership Eastside.
