Director's Welcome

I am delighted at your interest. We are building the next generation of smart, passionate, ethical and globally-oriented capitalists and welcome you to join us in this journey.

We are proud to announce the launch of our Leadership MBA at the Eastside Leadership Center in Bellevue. Along with the well-established Technology MBA, the UW Bothell MBA programs now offer students a great choice of locations and thematic focus.

Recently, Business Week ranked our MBA programs # 3 in the Pacific Northwest and # 51 in the nation.  This ranking is a validation of our efforts to bring world-class programs to the region.

The Eastside Leadership Center in Bellevue will get its second degree in Fall 2010- an undergraduate business degree with concentrations in Finance, Entrepreneurship and International Business.  In the meantime, the undergraduate program at the Bothell campus is growing. We now have 600 day and evening undergraduate students enrolled at Bothell pursuing educational opportunities in Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, Management Information Systems and Technology and Innovation Management

Our Business Development Center (BDC) serves all Eastside businesses by providing students the opportunity to work on real-life projects.  The BDC works with several academic partners to achieve its goals.

We are thrilled to be recruiting world-class faculty members to our campus. This year, we have two new Assistant Professors- Prof. Ying Li (Finance) and Prof. Alan Boss (Organizational Behavior and Entrepreneurship). We plan to add many more scholars to our community in the coming years.

As a student, you should expect to be challenged in every class to think, communicate and build the skills necessary to succeed in a complex global environment.  We want you to write well, make cogent and persuasive arguments, conduct complex analysis and have the ability to quickly learn new concepts.  Successful students develop strong relationships with their peers as well as faculty and staff members during their stay here.

Along with my two Associate Directors (Prof. Walt Freytag and Prof. Gowri Shankar) and the Director of the Business Development Center, I look forward to working with you to achieve great heights. If you have any ideas on how we can build a better future, do not hesitate to contact me at (425) 352 5229 or through email at Skrishnamurthy@uwb.edu.

Sincerely,
Sandeep Krishnamurthy
