Alumni Council
Position Descriptions
Chair
- The Chair shall act as chairperson at all meetings of the Council, and the Executive Committee.
- Shall work with the UW Bothell Alumni staff designee to set the agenda for general Council and Executive Committee meetings.
- Shall serve as the Council's official alumni representative to UW Bothell and to other organizations when an official representative is required. (e.g. UW Bothell Commencement, UWAA Board, etc.)
- Shall work with the UW Bothell Alumni staff designee in evaluating the Council's overall needs and planning future direction for the organization.
- Shall actively recruit Council and UWAA membership.
- Shall hold the position for one year.
- Normal succession of office from Chair-Elect to Chair shall occur automatically without election.
Chair-Elect
- In the absence of the Chair, the Chair-Elect shall perform the duties of the Chair.
- Succeeds the Chair in case of emergency, absence or normal succession.
- Shares the duties with the Chair as a representative at University-wide events.
- Shall serve as representative on the UW Bothell Campaign Committee.
- Shall actively recruit Council and UWAA membership.
- Elected to a two (2) year term serving the first year as Chair-Elect and the second year as Chair.
Committee Chairs
- Shall head their respective committees by leading critical tasks including recruiting council members, chairing meetings, managing projects, and all other business related to the committee.
- Act as the primary liaisons between the committee and the Alumni Council and report all committee related news to the Alumni Council membership at every UWBAC meeting.
- Shall actively recruit Council and UWAA membership.
- Shall be considered, through nomination and election, to succeed the Chair-Elect in the event that a vacancy occurs. (Does not automatically become Chair-Elect, must be re-elected to position).
- Elected annually to a one (1) year commitments with no term limit.
Secretary
- The Secretary aides the UW Bothell Alumni staff designee in taking minutes at all Council meetings.
- Assists the UW Bothell Alumni staff designee in formatting and sending the minutes to the Chair for review and for distribution.
- Aides the UW Bothell Alumni staff designee to help ensure the distribution of meeting minutes in a timely manner to all active council members.
- Maintains a record of UWBAC activities and events and provides information as needed to the UW Bothell Alumni staff designee.
- Aides the UW Bothell Alumni staff designee (Elections Officer) in executing the election process.
- Elected annually to a one (1) year term with no term limit.
Constituency Representatives
- All Academic Programs have at least one representative
- Constituency Representatives must represent an academic program at UW Bothell.
- Act as liaisons to the Director of the academic program they represent.
- Required to serve on a UWBAC committee.
- Shall actively recruit Council and UWAA membership.
- Elected annually to a one (1) year commitment with no term limit.
Program Representative At-Large
- Must represent an academic program at UW Bothell.
- Act as liaison to the Director of academic program they represent.
- Recommended to serve on a UWBAC committee.
- Shall actively recruit Council and UWAA membership.
- Elected annually to a one (1) year commitment with no term limit.
