What makes working at UW Bothell rewarding?

I personally had a really rewarding undergraduate experience at the University of Washington so now as an Admissions Advisor for UW Bothell I truly enjoy getting to know prospective students and seeing their excitement at continuing their education and joining the Husky family. It is very rewarding to help students plan out their future and inspiring to watch them overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

What is the best advice you can give a new student?

My advice to new students is to really break out of your comfort zone when you go to college. Now is the time to not be afraid and really try new things, meet new people and explore the world around you. You will learn things and have unique and rewarding experiences that you never would have had otherwise. I also really recommend that all students study abroad (even for a short time) if you can - this is something I didnot do when I was an undergraduate and I know it would be a fantastic experience to really expand your horizons, experience new cultures and add depth to your academic experience.

What do you consider the main attraction at UW Bothell?

The fantastic thing about UW Bothell is that we offer personal care and attention to our students. From students just considering our campus who receive personal advising and application assistance to current students trying to decide on a major or find a career path, everyone at UW Bothell really takes the time to get to know each student individually and genuinely wants to help them find success. The professors and staff are very approachable, take the time to learn student’s names and backgrounds and go the extra mile to help them achieve their goals.
