What makes working at UW Bothell rewarding?

Throughout high school and college, whenever I sat down to think about what kind of career I eventually wanted to get into, the only criteria that was constant was that I wanted to help people in some sort of way. Today, this is what I get to do every day and I love it! I love the opportunity that I have to assist students in reaching their academic goals. Regardless of whether a student chooses to attend UW Bothell or not, I have the privilege of joining a student, for as long or short of a time, on their path to college.

What is the best advice you can give a new student?

Try something new. Have you ever thought, “ That would be interesting, but I’m not sure”? Don’t analyze it. Just do it. Take a subject that you have never heard of before. Join a club that sounds interesting. Do an intermural sport that you’ve never played. College is all about experiences. Sometimes you’ve got to jump two feet in, even if you’re not sure where you’ll land. In the end, you may find that you have a new skill or passion that you had no idea existed.

What do you consider the main attraction at UW Bothell?

The feeling of community. I challenge anyone to walk around campus for five minutes and not feel the strong community that resides here. Everyone, top to bottom, is friendly and wants to invest in you as a student. We want to foster a positive environment that you will feel comfortable to learn and grow in. At UW Bothell, you will know exactly what it means to be a part of the Husky family.
