Class of 2016

Why did you choose UW Bothell?
I choose UW Bothell because I was informed from a relative that it was a very prestigious institution. I visited the campus first for a campus tour and advisory meeting and the people that I met were very intriguing, inviting, intelligent and informative. A bonus was also the fact that it is a very small institution, and seeing as I was homeschooled throughout my middle school and high school years, the environment fit me perfectly.

What would you like to major in and why?
My major will be in Biology. I choose this because my goal and desire is to become a cardiothoracic surgeon. This inspiration dwelled from my mother having Coronary Artery Disease; I just always wanted to help her and anyone in the world that may be suffering from the same disease. In my sophomore at UW Bothell I will adding a minor in business administration, in hopes to open a hospital or private practice in approximately 15 - 20 years.

What have you been involved in during your time here?
The biggest course I'm involved in is the Dream Project. Its goals and purposes of community outreach, specifically targeting low income and minority high dchool students and its attempts to guide and mentor them through the college application process are very meaningful and have made it my favorite activity here.

Where are you from?
I am from New York.
