Jenny

Class of 2013

What is your major and why did you choose that focus of study?
I’m a double major in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, Community Psychology, and Global Studies with a minor in Human Rights. I chose these majors because I wanted to understand how to improve the quality of life for people in a specific community but on a more global scale, and it fits with the graduate work I would like to do.

What are your plans after graduation?
I want to pursue a master’s degree in Public Health through the Peace Corps Masters International program at the Evans Campbell School of Public Affairs. My passion is to travel and do mission work abroad so I think the cultural immersion will be an exciting adventure!

Favorite thing about UW Bothell
My favorite thing about UW Bothell is that the campus is so small and you get to know the faculty and staff so well. By developing those relationships, your academic work becomes more meaningful.

Random facts about you
I love the show Hoarders because I would like to be a professional organizer in my fantasy life, my favorite word is aircraft, and I still take two buses to school because I decided that studying in Zambia was more important than buying a car.

What have you been involved in during your time here?
I help start a chapter on campus for an advocacy program called Stirring the Fire to raise awareness regarding women’s rights issues around the world. I am also an Assistant Career Advisor in the career center, so I help students with resumes, cover letters, and practice interviews!
