The UW Bothell Purple and Gold Scholars Award is available for U.S. residents from outside the state of Washington who have demonstrated extraordinary scholarship and aptitude. The Award is offered at $7,500 per academic year and limited to a maximum of 12 continuous quarters (excluding summer quarter) of undergraduate study at UW Bothell. No separate application is required! To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following four criteria:
- Be a non-Washington state resident and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident;
- Submit your completes application for admission to UW Bothell by January 15;
- Be admitted as a first-time freshman;
- Have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.4* or higher on a scale of 4.0; and
- Have an SAT score of at least 1090 (CR & M) or an ACT composite of at least 23.
* Transfer college credit GPA must be equal to or higher.
A portion of these awards is need based, so you are encouraged to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 28.
You may renew the Purple & Gold Scholar Award for up to nine (9) continuous quarters (excluding summer quarter) at UW Bothell following your freshman year, providing you maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, earn at least 12-graded credits per quarter, and retain your nonresident status.
Important: There are a limited number of these awards available, so apply by the priority application date of January 15. This award can only be applied toward tuition expenses. The Purple and Gold Awards will be applied to the tuition balance up to $7,500 after first applying Federal aid and other scholarship dollars.
