U-PASS

The U-PASS makes getting to UW Bothell and around the Puget Sound cheaper and easier than driving alone! The U-PASS provides UW Bothell Students, Faculty and Staff unlimited travel on the following transportation carriers:

Community Transit 
Everett Transit 
King County Metro 
Kitsap Transit 
Pierce Transit 
Sound Transit
Sounder Commuter Train

Choosing an alternative to driving alone once or twice a week is a simple way to save money, reduce stress and help preserve the environment.

Who is eligible to purchase U-PASS?

  • All UW Bothell students currently enrolled in state-funded courses with a valid student I.D. (Husky CardTM ).
  • Faculty and staff employed in permanent positions and working at least 50%-time at the Bothell campus.
  • Temporary and hourly employees working at least 3 days a week throughout the quarter at the Bothell campus.
  • Affiliates certified by a University personnel office commuting at least 3 days a week throughout the quarter to the Bothell campus.
  • Retirees employed on the Bothell campus either 40%-time or three days per week.

Purchasing a U-PASS

Stop by the UWB Cashier's Office, UW1 160, to purchase your U-PASS. To purchase the U-PASS, you must present your Husky Card. The U-PASS sticker will be affixed to the card at the time of purchase.

Effective July 1, 2009 the Faculty and Staff U-PASS costs are $120.00* per quarter, payable by cash, check or payroll deduction.

Student U-PASS costs are $99.00* per quarter payable by cash or check.

Returning Your U-PASS

The U-PASS is the property of UW Bothell, and may not be loaned, sold, or transferred in any manner to another person. Misuse of the U-PASS will result in confiscation by the University, King County Metro, Sound Transit, or Community Transit. To reclaim a confiscated card, call the UW Cashier's Office in UW1 160 at 425.352.3246. Return found cards to the UW Bothell Cashier's Office.

Lost U-PASS

Students

Report a lost U-PASS to the Cashier's Office in UW1 160 at 425.352.3246. The cost of replacing a lost Husky CardTM with U-PASS sticker is $30. Replacement fees are non-refundable. Students issued replacement stickers are not permitted to cancel the $50 U-PASS fee by returning a sticker. Repeated requests to replace a U-PASS could result in disciplinary action.

Faculty and Staff

Report a lost U-PASS to the Cashier's Office in UW1 160 at 425.352.3246. If your Husky CardTM and U-PASS sticker have been lost or stolen, the first step is to fill out the replacement form. When you have obtained a new Husky CardTM, bring your card to the UW Bothell Cashier's Office to replace your U-PASS sticker for a cash or check replacement fee as follows:

  • First replacement: Quarterly $30, Annual $30 for the first quarter and $25 for each additional quarter the pass remains valid.
  • Second replacement: Quarterly $40. There is a maximum of two replacements per quarter. Annual $40 for the first quarter and $35 for each additional quarter the pass remains valid. There is a maximum of two replacements between July 1 and June 30 of the following year.

U-PASS Refunds

Students

Withdrawal Fee: Students who withdraw through the seventh calendar day of the quarter will owe a $75 U-PASS fee unless they return their U-PASS to the Cashier's Office by the tuition due date.

If you withdraw after the seventh calendar day and pay one-half of your tuition, you may retain the U-PASS for $50 or return it no later than the tuition due date to have the $50 fee waived. There are no U-PASS refunds after the tuition payment deadline and no replacements of lost U-PASS stickers if you have withdrawn.

Faculty and Staff

U-PASS refunds will be prorated for the pay period for which it is turned in. For those on payroll deduction, the deduction will cease upon notification of cancellation.
