Facilities Use

We are pleased to provide a variety of services and amenities to the campus community. We invite you to browse our website to book an event.

The Facilities Use Approval Committee (FUAC) was established by the Chancellor to approve the use of University of Washington Bothell (UWB) facilities (structures & grounds) for all non-curricular events and activities. Requests are approved and coordinated as per the Use of UWB Facilities Policy. During the approval process, costs are estimated by the Facilities Use Coordinator and will provide the requestor with a list of charges expected to be levied following the event.

Reservation Request

Curricular Events:

Requests for facilities use associated with curricular events should be submitted directly to the UWB Registrars Office (uwbrooms@uwb.edu).

Non-curricular Events:

To request the use of a UWB facility for non-curricular events, a Reservation Request Form must be submitted for review and approval three weeks prior to the requested use date. Requests can be submitted on-line or via the address below.

Event Planning

Please consider the following when planning events on campus:

  • Does the event require equipment or other technology? This support is not included in facility rental rates. The requestor is responsible for submitting equipment reservations directly to the Campus Media Center (CMC) with proper notice (i.e., 10 business days for special events; 3 business days for institutional activities; 12-hours for course-related activities). Equipment requests can be submitted via the Reserve Now! page on the CMC website, email (media@uwb.edu), or telephone (425.352.5312). The CMC will not process requests until the event has been approved by the Facilities Use Approval Committee.
  • Because of increased problems with computer security issues (such as Windows vulnerabilities and viruses), UW Bothell Information Technology (IT) requires registration of laptop computers. This registration is required for ALL computers, regardless of hardware and operating system. If you want to register your laptop for use on the UWB network, bring it to the IT helpdesk in LB2-218, any time between 8:00 and 5:00, Monday through Friday. Once your computer has been certified as updated and virus-free, we will register it for use on the campus network. If you do not bring your laptop to be certified, you will not be able to use it on the campus network.
  • Does the event require permits? The following may require permits and must be coordinated prior to facility use approval:
  • Will food or beverages be served? The requestor is responsible for providing necessary supplies (i.e. cups, plates, serving trays, napkins, sugar/creamer, and stir sticks). Coffee can be ordered in advance through the UWB Commons Cafe.
  • Does the event require signage (posters, directional signs, etc.)? Contact the CMC if directional signs require easels.
  • Is on-site parking necessary for event participants? Please visit our Parking web site for information on parking and fees. If a large turnout is anticipated, parking arrangements must be coordinated in advance with the Facilities Use Approval Committee.
