Distinguished Teaching Award
Selection Process
The Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA) is presented each year to a Bothell faculty member who has demonstrated sustained excellence in teaching and exemplified what it means to fulfill the academic mission of the University of Washington Bothell. It is one of seven UW Distinguished Teaching Awards given annually: five from the Seattle campus and one each from UW Bothell and UW Tacoma. Each award is accompanied by a $5,000 stipend from the President's Fund for Excellence. The award recipient is recognized at the annual Recognition Ceremony in Seattle and at the annual Faculty Recognition Ceremony at Bothell.
Following the recommendation of the General Faculty Organization, the DTA was established in March 1995, to acknowledge a range of exemplary and innovative teaching activity. Faculty from across programs are nominated in recognition of teaching that stimulatewww.uwb.edu/academic/teaching/distinguisheds continuous learning and exploration, inspires students to achieve at the highest levels, and demonstrates openness to a wide spectrum of ethical, philosophical, and intellectual inquiry.
The 2010 Recognition Ceremony will take place in Meany Hall on Thursday, June 10, at 3:30 p.m., followed by a reception in the foyer at 4:30 p.m. on the Seattle campus.

Rose Distinguished Academic Service Award
The Rose Distinguished Academic Service Award was given in 2006 and 2007 to UW Bothell tenured or tenure-track faculty members. It recognized sustained outstanding academic service that made a demonstrable difference; it defined academic service broadly to encompass service to the campus, university, region, and profession or discipline.

Worthington Distinguished Faculty Scholarship Award
The Worthington Distinguished Faculty Scholarship Award was given in 2006 and 2007 to UW Bothell tenured or tenure-track faculty members for extraordinary accomplishment in research, scholarship, or creative works. The award recognized sustained scholarly productivity that had a significant impact on the discipline or profession and/or the region primarily served by UW Bothell.
