About the Worthington Innovation Fellows program
The Worthington Innovation Fellows program is a new initiative sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs. The program supports UW Bothell's commitment to fostering a culture of innovation through high-impact teaching, research, and engagement practices, in keeping with the focus on innovation called for in the 21st Century Campus Initiative strategic plan.
The initative is made possible with generous funding from the Worthington Technology Fund and is designed to support faculty and staff in exploring how technology can create significant new opportunities for innovation across the campus.
Fellowships will be awarded to support individual or team projects, with up to $6,000 in funding available for each project selected. Up to six fellowships will be awarded each year, beginning in Spring 2013 for the initial cohort and thereafter beginning each Autumn. A separate Call for Proposals will be announced for each opportunity.
Worthington Innovation Fellows will be asked to report to the campus community at the conclusion of their work through a brief written report and a public presentation at the Chancellor’s Innovation Forum, the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Symposium, or other public forum. Fellows will also participate in a Worthington Innovation Fellows circle during the period of the award to facilitate the sharing of ideas, resources and strategies.
Call for Proposals - Apply by February 28, 2013
Faculty and staff are invited to submit a brief proposal for funding to support development of a specific project, with work to take place between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014. Applicants may request up to $6,000 in funding for an individual or a team for a period that can range from a few weeks to a year. Support requests should be appropriate to the scope and requirements of the specific project.
